Danielle Maur Wins W. Stewart Brauns, Jr. Award in Recognition of Contributions to Game of Squash
CHANHASSEN, Minn.--(BUSINESS WIRE)-- Danielle Maur, national squash and racquetball director for Life Time Fitness (NYSE: LTM) has received the annual W. Stewart Brauns, Jr. Award for outstanding contributions to the game of squash. The announcement was made during the U.S. SQUASH Assembly on November 13 at the University Club of Chicago.
Maur has been a fixture in the squash community for the past 13 years, five of which have been spent working seamlessly with U.S. SQUASH to promote and grow the sport. She has served in her current role since 2008, where she is responsible for directing Life Time's best-in-class squash programming, tournaments and training for all levels of players.
"The Stuart Brauns Award is one of the most prestigious honors in squash," said Mark Thom, senior vice president of fitness and nutrition services at Life Time Fitness. "We are honored to have one of our own recognized for her contributions to the sport. Danielle's leadership is sure to continue Life Time's presence as a premier provider of squash programming as we further impact this great sport."
The recipient of the W. Stewart Brauns, Jr. Award is selected by a panel comprised of the U.S. SQUASH Board of Directors. Selection is based, in part, on the extent to which nominees' career influence programming and administrative activities for the benefit of the game of squash.
Maur was recognized for making Life Time the largest squash club in the world, with 150 courts nationally. Since 2008, participation in squash at the healthy way of life company has grown more than 80 percent under Maur's direction, with an estimated 15,000 players.
