Tim Mahoney to Perform National Anthem at Life Time Fitness Triathlon on July 12

Minneapolis musician, singer and songwriter, Tim Mahoney, will perform the National Anthem at the Life Time Fitness Triathlon on Saturday, July 12. Mahoney will then trade his microphone and guitar for tri gear, a bicycle and running shoes to compete along with more than 3,000 other participants in internationally renowned event, which will host 40 professional triathletes, including 11 Olympians, battling for the event's $250,000 Professional Division prize purse.

WHO:

A native of Minnetonka, Minnesota, Mahoney began his career in music more than 10 years ago as front man for the high-energy pop-rock band, the Blue Meenies, which quickly made its mark on the Twin Cities music scene and at colleges and clubs across the Midwest.

Mahoney has released five solo albums, the most recent of which, "Stay/Leave," is available at Target and Best Buy stores, iTunes.com, Amazon.com, and on his Web site, TIMMAHONEY.COM. He plays more than 150 shows each year, including those with his full band and solo acoustic. He recently was featured in Rolling Stone Magazine's 40th Anniversary issue after winning the Ray-Ban "Never Hide" contest.
