EDEN PRAIRIE, Minn.--(BUSINESS WIRE)--

Life Time Fitness, Inc. (NYSE:LTM), a national operator of distinctive and large health and fitness centers, today announced the organizations participating in the inaugural 2007 Life Time Fitness Corporate Charity Challenge.

A new division within the 2007 Life Time Fitness Triathlon, the Corporate Charity Challenge was established to encourage corporate team participation in the July 14 Life Time Fitness Triathlon (Minneapolis) and, in doing so, to support the charitable organizations they designate.

100% of each team's $3,000 event entry fee will be donated to their designated charity via the Life Time Fitness Foundation. Additionally, Bahram Akradi, Life Time Fitness Chairman and Chief Executive Officer, has committed an additional donation of $50,000 to the charity designed by the team with the overall best Corporate Charity Challenge race finish time.

Participants in this year's Challenge include Accenture, Cargill Power & Gas Markets, Gear West Bike & Triathlon, Golf Galaxy, Faegre & Bensen LLP, Famous Dave's of America, Inc., IWCO Direct, Minnesota Timberwolves, Minnesota Vikings, OCI Companies, Park Nicollet Health Services, Team Ortho, and Life Time Fitness.

"We see the Corporate Charity Challenge as the perfect way for the business community to lead by example and inspire others to participate in this healthy-way-of-life event, while supporting worthy organizations in our communities that are committed to helping those in need," said Akradi. "We are grateful to these forward thinking companies who chose to be a part of this inaugural division within our Triathlon and look forward to even more participation and corporate giving impact in the years to come."

Corporate Charity Challenge participants compete as a relay team on the Life Time Fitness Triathlon Olympic distance racecourse that begins and ends at Minneapolis' Lake Nokomis. The course includes a 1.5k swim, a 40k bike on a beautiful urban course that spans Minneapolis and St. Paul, and a 10k run.

More than 3,100 participants are expected to participate in the 2007 Life Time Fitness Triathlon, including 40 of the World's top professional triathletes who will be competing for a share of the event's $250,000 prize purse. The event is part of the Life Time Fitness Triathlon Series, which will offer professional participants nearly $1.5 million in 2007.
