Olympian Carrie Tollefson joins Life Time Fitness to offer new adult running camps
CHANHASSEN, Minn.--(BUSINESS WIRE)-- Every year more than 20,000 running events take place across the country with a majority occurring during Summer and Fall. To help optimize runners' training in preparation for these events, Life Time Fitness, Inc. (NYSE: LTM), the healthy way of life company, has teamed up with Olympian and three-time National Champion Carrie Tollefson to launch the first ever, exclusive Life Time Run adult running camp beginning March 5 - 6, 2011. Life Time Run is a running company within Life Time Fitness that caters specifically to runners of all skill levels.
"Running means a lot to me and I'm thrilled to have the opportunity to share the knowledge and skills I've acquired as a championship runner," said Tollefson. "I'm looking forward to having an exhilarating weekend of learning and running with everybody."
Tollefson will lead the two-day running camp at Life Time Fitness St. Louis Park teaching participants the core essentials of what it takes to be a great runner, including in-classroom training and group runs. Camp participants will leave with knowledge that not only helps them run smarter, but will help them run longer. They'll gain a stronger, refreshed appreciation for what running can provide.

About Carrie Tollefson
Tollefson was born and raised in
Dawson, Minn. In high school, she won 13 state championships setting a
national record of five consecutive individual cross country state
championships plus eight state track championships. While at Villanova
University, Carrie won five NCAA championships individually and was a
member of the 1999 NCAA Cross Country Championships team. In 1998,
Carrie was named NCAA Indoor track athlete of the year and was the first
person in NCAA history to win both the 3k and 5k. Now an Olympian and
three-time National Champion she lives and trains in her home state of
Minnesota where she hopes to encourage and motivate the next generation.
